MERGER MANAGERS ANNOUNCES "BOOT CAMP" TO TRAIN EXECUTIVES IN POST-MERGER INTEGRATION
New crash courses help executives avoid major pitfalls when integrating two companies after the deal is done.

HALF MOON BAY, CA - 2001 - Merger Managers, LLC, a privately-held merger and acquisition consulting firm, today announced a variety of training options to help busy executives successfully implement their mergers and acquisitions.

The traditional route of hiring a major consulting firm for $50,000 -$200,000 is often times wasteful and unnecessary, according to the company's founders. Executives now have the option of attending 2- or 3-day "boot camp" to learn what to expect at each stage of the integration process, what pitfalls will occur, and how to manage them. In addition, the firm offers an Integration Tool Kit CD-ROM, which includes and Integration Planning Guide, timelines, over 25 tools and templates, a Master Integration Work Plan, and other resources.

Market research shows that up to 80% of mergers and acquisitions ultimately fail and usually due to poor execution. Since mergers are not something most companies do regularly, executives simply do not know what to expect during the post-merger integration process, and aren't prepared to add integration-related tasks to their already busy schedules.

"After personally being involved in over a dozen mergers and acquisitions in the high tech industry, it kills me to see big consulting firms charging their clients tens of thousands of dollars to guide them through the post-merger integration process" said Jennie K. Fairchild, J.D., and CEO of Merger Managers. "Integrating two companies is not rocket-science - if you know what to expect and plan for it ahead of time. Unfortunately, most executives have to learn through the school of hard knocks, and that's what we're trying to change. Our most eager participants are those who have been through a merger or acquisition, and realize the value of the training and experience we have to offer."

"Having been through several acquisitions, I can attest to the necessity of the processes and tools developed by Merger Managers. While the deal may look good on paper, learning how to effectively integrate one company with another is the critical element. By ignoring this fact, you are guaranteeing problems and essentially placing the entire investment at risk before you get started" adds Robert Doretti, CEO of ON Technology
